Wes was fortunate enough to be able to take a few days off from work to spend time with Avery during his Christmas break. However, I was not quite so lucky. I still haven't recovered from year end and am constantly playing catch up and just couldn't miss even a day of work right now :(
So I decided to take Avery out for a Mom/Daughter night when I got home tonight.
I told her she could pick everything we did. She decided on dinner and a movie. We started at Chappy's and both got the yummy Steak Teriyaki Melt...wow, was it good!!
Avery decided to wrap up the night with a movie and picked Anchorman 2. She and Wes saw it last week, but she knew I would love it and she was right. It was hilarious. We had a wonderful time at dinner and the movie and it was great to spend some together just the two of us.

Day 2/365 - January 2
It was back to work for me today, but Wes and Avery had a great day together. They grabbed an early movie, lunch at Street Cafe, and then they stopped in at Hobby Lobby to pick up the last of the knobs for Avery's dresser that she's needed for at least six months. Yep, fun and busy day for sure!
When I got home from work, I finished gathering up the rest of our New Year's Eve party stuff. This just so happened to include the banner that we left hanging out front yesterday due to the rain.
Thanks to the crazy wind we've had for the past two days, the banner is now missing about half the letters. So much for using it again next year, huh?

Day 1/365 - January 1
Hello 2014...Happy New Year!!!
For the first time in quite a few years, Wes was awake at midnight to ring in the New Year with me. Needless to say, I had to get Avery to snap a quick photo of us.
A few hours later I finally got Avery, Caroline, Sydney, and Mackenzie settled down enough that I could crawl in bed around 2:00. They were having a blast - and not being very quiet doing it :)
We had a relaxing New Year's Day over at Wes's parents house complete with a yummy lunch and tons of watching football bowl games on TV. There was a little napping thrown in there too.
All in all, today was a great start to 2014!

Project 365 - 2014
I've tried and tried and tried...and failed and failed and failed. However, I'm confident that 2014 is the year that I will FINALLY make it all the way through (start to finish) with Project 365. I would say that I'm confident I can take 365 photos, but there's no doubt I can accomplish that it the first quarter of the year! So fingers and toes crossed and many prayers said for an amazing 2014. There will be nothing better than looking back at these memories in the years to come!
