Day 280/365 - October 7

Avery had a field trip to Moundville today. I signed up to go with her, but had a rough night and got very little sleep. Needless to say, I was a bit on edge.

When we got to school and realized Avery left her field trip backpack (containing lunch, drinks, and camera) at home as we walking out the door, I lost it. Wes ended up bringing it to while I was gassing up for the road, but of course I was late leaving and ended up arriving late too. Thankfully, Avery's teacher kept her group until I arrived.

Although the field trip was fun and I even learned alot, it was a stressful day to say the least. So, imagine our surprise to find these when we arrived home.
Beautiful flowers along with a gift certificate for a mani/pedi for both Avery and me. Sweet, sweet Wes.

Day 279/365 - October 6

I volunteered to work lunch duty at school today so the teachers could attend a PTA luncheon.

Would you think that meant you were with your kid's class? Yep, me too but that wasn't the case. They sent the parents to each child's homeroom class. Pretty crazy if you ask me.

I don't know half of those kids. They knew it and tested me. And tested some more. And tested some more. I obviously finally scared them enough with my,

"this is the third time I've asked you to stop talking. You can not read and talk at the same time. If I have to ask again, you will each lay your heads down until Mrs. Offord returns. Then you can explain to her why you are sitting like kindergartners."

That one seemed to get their attention, but holy moly!

On the upside, I did get to SEE my sweet girl at lunch.

Day 278/365 - October 5

Tonight, the 4th graders performed at school for the PTA meeting tonight.
Although I did take MANY pictures, I ended up "borrowing" one from a teacher...it was just better.

Day 277/365 - October 4

Lookie at what I received in the mail today....
four FREE tickets to Six Flags!!!!

I registered for a give away on a coupon blog I frequent several weeks ago and never gave it a second thought...until today.

Now, how in the world will we EVER find the time to head over to Atlanta by the end of October?!?

Day 276/365 - October 3

Avery's volleyball team headed to Auburn to watch their girl's play Alabama today. None of our family had ever seen a women's volleyball match and let me tell ya, it was great!

The girls were all settled in and ready for the first match.
Aubie was even there!
After Auburn kicked some Bama bootie, the girls headed down to the court for a team photo.
Talk about a fun afternoon!

Day 275/365 - October 2

We finally broke down and switched our cable to Dish yesterday. It took the install guys four hours to get everything set up and working, but the picture is A-MA-ZING!
It was killing us to pay the crazy monthly bill to Knology for our bundle. Although we cut a few services (premium channels), we still should save almost $30/month.

Now, to line up phone and cable service...not quite as easy.

Avery had another great volleyball game today. They played the team they were tied with for first place. There were three great matches, but they ended beating us in the final match.
I was super proud of Avery though. You can tell that she's not nearly as timid and afraid of the ball. She even went after a few today!

Day 274/365 - October 1

Avery begged to sign up for Abrakadoodle (art classes) when the sign up sheet came home at the start of school. Knowing what an adjustment school was, we quickly said no.

Now that things have somewhat settled down with school and we found out there was a Friday afternoon class, we felt comfortable signing up. This was Avery's second week and she is really enjoying it.

They worked with oil pastels today to create this precious rooster.
I am glad she is creative and enjoys art so much. Once again, obviously something she got from her Dad.
