Despite being tired beyond belief, I am still managing to get up and make it to the Y for my morning workouts. It is SO hot and humid when I walk out the door at 4:20. This is what the temperature was on the way this morning.
Take a look at this beautiful sunrise I witnessed on the way home this morning!
It's nothing like the one I saw yesterday, but I didn't have my camera with me yesterday so today's will have to do.
Our uniforms came in tonight, so I headed up to the ball field to pick them up. Turns out, the supplier ran out of Adult Small sizes and decided to bump up to Adult Medium for two of our players. I guess that's better than going down a size, but still!
On top of that, the shirts for our coaches were e.x.a.c.t.l.y. what I specified that we did NOT want. To say I was upset would be a slight understatement. We requested a lightweight, wicking material similar to the uniforms and even offered to pay any difference out of our own pockets. No, no were were told - the league will handle everything, don't worry about it. What did we get? The exact same shirt as last year, the exact same thing we specifically requested NOT to get.
To make matters worse, I wasn't even told about the shirts. They were just stuffed down in a box that I happened to open as I was getting ready to walk off. Then to admit that, "I know it's not what you wanted," after trying to hide it from me! After a lengthy discussion that turned slightly ugly, both the uniform lady and I were pretty angry and decided it was best for us to both leave.
Am I still mad? Shoot yeah! Now, to try and figure out where to get replacement shirts in a weeks time.

Day 159/365 - June 8
While practicing tonight, Wes decided that he would run the bases with the girls to "make it fun." We have one girl that is a great player, but never seems to just hustle. Wes decided that he would run beside her tonight and encourage her by being funny.
Wes - You gonna let an old white man beat you?
Kentoria - grins
Wes - foot slips in dirt and he does a complete roll/flip combo across the field
Laughter erupts from e.v.e.r.y. single person there including Kentoria. Mission accomplished?
The damage - nothing more than a skinned up knee and leg.

Day 158/365 - June 7
Avery's furniture was still not back in her bedroom as of this morning.
Furniture in our foyer:
Furniture and stuff in our spare room:
Luckily, we spent some time and worked on that this evening. Still not 100%, but the furniture is in there! Most of the "stuff" pictured above is still right where is was this morning!
Avery's friend Lilly spent the night last night. We picked her up on the way home from Landon's birthday party. Today, the girls wanted to go swimming, but Lilly is not a member of the Y which left me in a quandary. We are only allowed two guests per year and every single time I turn around, Avery wants to invite someone to come with us.
I came up with this ingenious idea to call a friend and ask if I could say Lilly was her daughter when we checked in (since I knew they were out of town). Just stick with me, I promise that it seemed like a good idea at the time.
So, I proceed to tell Avery and Lilly that we are going to the Y, but that I will need to tell the girl at the counter their names. This is the conversation that followed:
Avery - why?
Mom - because Lilly is going to "be" Bailey Anne today since they are members.
Avery - but that is lying. Lying is wrong.
Me - silence. Yes, yes it is. {crud, there are times I really stink at this parenting thing}
As we are riding to the Y, Avery asks me to borrow a pen...so Lilly can write Bailey's name on her hand. {sigh} Once again bad, bad parent!
I quickly inform the girls that when we arrive at the Y, I will do the talking and they will play the quiet game. Once we are in the locker room headed to the pool, Lilly asks me if the quiet game is over.
Did I mention that I am a REALLY bad parent?

Day 157/365 - June 6
Avery has a blister on her thumb from batting. She decided that she would pop it on her own with no help.
I must say that I'm pretty impressed with her effort!

Day 156/365 - June 5
Avery had softball practice this morning in attempts to beat out some of the heat. Let me tell ya, it was still hot but I'm sure it wasn't as hot at 1:00 would have been!
This afternoon, we had cousin Landon's 5th birthday party at Ace Bowling. Luckily, Paige and Caitlin were able to come too and they all had a great time together...after I purchased socks from the bowling alley. I had socks out and we both left them on the counter. {sigh}

Day 155/365 - June 4
Tonight was our second All-Star practice and it was a long one. Wes is really working the girls and has set up "stations." They basically move from hitting to fielding and then the pitchers get pulled out for individual work. I think it will really help the girls, but I know they are exhausted!
Avery was allowed to move back to her bed in her room tonight and she was excited!
I just pulled the bed from the center of the room, and grabbed a lamp from the bathroom for her. The walls are still a little tacky, so I didn't feel comfortable putting anything up against them yet. I'm sure it will take us a little while to get everything put back in it's place, but we're getting there!

Day 154/365 - June 3
I have not done a good job keeping flowers planted the past few years, but I can always count on my Mexican Petunias to brighten up my yard.
These beauties flower each morning and fall off within a few hours, very similar to a Morning Glory. They do spread, but we haven't had any problems with them. I just love seeing them as I pull out in the morning.
After Avery came home over the weekend and was bored with us painting ALL THE TIME, Wes suggested renting a game for the Wii. So, Avery and I ran up to BlockBuster and she quickly decided on Deal or No Deal.
Imagine my shock to find that it cost $9 to rent a game! Are you kidding me?!? On the upside, she did get to keep it for 5 days, but still...WOW!!!
