Day 33/365 - February 2

Avery was so excited to finally get her hair cut today. She hasn't had a cut since the fall and it was certainly time for a trim! She went in with plans to get it cut into a short bob again, but also wanted to ask Ms. Tammi about "getting it curly."

See, Wes thinks it would be a GREAT idea for her to just get a perm. I do understand where he's coming from, but growing up in the 80's I HAD these kinds of perms. And let me tell ya, they aren't pretty! If only I could dig up some old photos for proof....

Luckily Tammi was (un)fortunate enough to have the same aforementioned perms and recalls her damaged youth. She was quick to jump in and inform Avery how a perm would "actually" look in her hair and with a little bit of convincing, our work was complete :)

Tammi looked at Avery's hair and noticed how much body and natural wave she is starting to get. She finally convinced Avery to just get about an inch and a half cut off the ends with long layers so that we could play up her natural wave. Alot of the wave had fallen out by the time we got home, but you can kinda get the idea from this pic. I'll try to use a better one for a future day.
Avery is in love with her new hair style and has already made me promise to style it for her in the morning. Uh oh - I was NOT looking to add any extra duties to my morning routine! Here's hoping she can "scrunch" on her own after a little bit of training!

We even had to "picture mail" it to Wes. That would be a picture text for any of you not too up on the 8 year old tech lingo :)

Tammi said around 12-13, her hair will probably end up with a good amount of natural curl. It looks like there might be one more thing she gets from me - some curl in the hair!!! Cause, for those of you that don't know, she is 100% her daddy's child!!
